ABOUT US
BLD | Bishop Land Design, was founded on the optimistic principle that we can make the world a better place through human ecology. The study of how our species interacts with their natural, social, and built environment is integral to our approach to landscape architecture. We apply human ecology to design to implement hybrid landscapes and living, ecologically sound infrastructure systems that integrate multifunctional uses and agendas over time, while reinforcing mutually beneficial relationships between people and the environment.
Our interdisciplinary approach embraces the role of landscape as a resource for cities and municipalities with the potential to provide social, ecological and economic benefits. In our design solutions, we innately capitalize on the intrinsic value of open space and blue-green infrastructure to create landscape amenities that provide positive outcomes for communities in addition to environmental benefits. Also integral to our approach is implementing public engagement practices to ensure community voices are heard throughout the process.
BLD is a team of experienced landscape architects and innovative designers with extensive backgrounds in planning, design and implementation of sustainable, meaningful and memorable solutions for diverse and challenging sites. We are a collaborative studio of passionate individuals who believe that every project is exceptional, and that each design should evolve from a clear understanding of clients’ goals and objectives, as well as the cultural and ecological context of the site. We understand every project as an opportunity to create unique and evocative design solutions with clear ideas, innovative thinking, and in the spirit of collaboration and open dialogue with our team and our clients.
